A new Guinness record produced by Albanian Premier

Prime Minister of Albania Sali Berisha, 64, is fighting to break its own record for the number of news produced within 24 hours. If you look at keshilliministrave.al, (official webpage of the government), you will find hard to count the news produced for today, 17 May, 2008.

Anyway, I have counted them. There are fourteen press releases, and maybe others will be added till the end of the day. Hugo Chavez maybe is filling now challenged. The Prime Minister is in a kind of electoral campaign out of electoral season. Travelling in south-east of Albania, he had gone for inauguration ceremonies, meting with young supporters, farmers and giving interviews. Usually, Mr. Berisha produces three or four press releases daily.

The great number of activities is linked with his campaign named “Albania in NATO” an attempt to maximise political earnings of the invitation received at 3, April in Bucharest, to join North Atlantic Alliance. His campaign is also designed to contrast intense activity of his adversary, Edi Rama. Mr. Rama, mayor of Tirana and head of Socialist Party in opposition, is travelling a lot in the country to meet common peoples. Socialist Party website ps.al publishes also a lot of press releases every day, but these press releases do not tell only about the activity of Mr. Rama. At Saturday, three press releases were published dealing with different events.
